Using CommonNote
By creating an account or using CommonNote, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. You need to be at least 13 years old to use it.
Your account
Give accurate details when you sign up, including your legal name when asked, and keep your password private. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.
Your content
You and your team own what you write and upload. You give us permission to store it, show it to the members of your project, and send it to the services that power CommonNote (including Claude) when your team asks for that, only so we can run the service for you.
Only upload things you have the right to share, and don’t put passwords, payment details or other secrets in notes.
Claude and AI output
Summaries, answers and fix requests are written by AI and can be wrong or incomplete. Changes made by Claude Code happen in your own project under your control. Review them before you rely on them, and keep your own backups of anything important.
Fair use
Don’t use CommonNote to break the law, harass people, share harmful or infringing material, try to get into projects you weren’t invited to, overload or attack the service, or resell it without our permission.
Plans and pricing
CommonNote is currently free for projects of up to 4 people. Paid plans for larger teams are listed on our Enterprise page as coming soon and aren’t available to buy yet. We’ll publish their terms before anyone is charged.
Ending your use
You can stop using CommonNote at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we’ll try to give notice first unless there’s a safety or legal reason not to.
No guarantees
CommonNote is a young product, provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it running and your notes safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free or a fit for every purpose.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, CommonNote and its founders aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits from using the service. Nothing here limits rights you have that can’t be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms as CommonNote grows. We’ll change the date at the top and, for bigger changes, tell you in the app first.
