The basics
What is CommonNote?
A shared notebook for small teams. Everyone writes notes in one place, sees who’s working right now, and Claude turns each note into a tidy summary or a clear next step.
Who is it for?
Teams that already lean on AI: phone and chat support teams, game studios, marketing teams, and any group taking notes together, like class projects and clubs. See who it’s for.
Does it work on Windows and Mac?
Yes. CommonNote runs in any modern browser on Windows, Mac and phones, and shortcuts work with Ctrl or ⌘. There’s nothing to install.
Teams and pricing
How many people can be on a project?
Up to 4, including the owner. Plans for bigger teams are coming soon.
Is it free?
Yes. Projects of up to 4 people are free. Team (5–10 teammates, $20 a month) and Enterprise (25+ teammates, $59 a month) are coming soon. Prices are per team, not per person. See plans.
How do I invite my team?
Create a project and share its 6-character code. Teammates sign up, enter the code, and you approve each one from Project settings & members.
What is the live team tracker?
The Team panel in the sidebar shows who has the project open right now and which note they’re on, next to everyone who’s joined. It’s live only; we don’t keep a history of it.
Claude and Claude Code
What does Claude do with my notes?
When you press Save & send, Claude rewrites the note as clean bullet points and, if your project writes code, a fix request with every detail kept and a “Done when” checklist. You can also ask Claude questions about a note or have it suggest what to add.
Do I need Claude Code?
No. Choose Just summarize when you set up a project and your notes come back as tidy summaries. Link Claude Code only if your team builds software and wants fixes made straight in the code.
How does “Straight to Claude Code” work?
The project owner links the project to Claude Code once. After that, Claude Code picks up fix requests, makes the changes, and reports back. Finished fixes show up in Your review with a check mark next to each item, and the person who sent the note confirms it’s fixed, sends it back with an explanation, or asks to try again. See how it compares.
Is Claude trained on my notes?
We send a note to Claude only when someone on your team asks for it, through Anthropic’s API under its commercial terms. Read more in our privacy policy.
Can Claude get things wrong?
Yes, sometimes. That’s why every finished fix comes back to a person in Your review, and why you can undo when you replace a note with Claude’s version.
Privacy and your data
Who can see my notes?
Only the approved members of that project. Projects are invite-only and pictures are kept in private storage.
Why do you ask for my legal name?
So project owners know who is asking to join. Only owners of projects you ask to join can see it.
How do I delete my account?
Email philipw455@icloud.com from the address you signed up with and we’ll delete it within 30 days.
